芙蓉江水能資源豐富，理論蘊(yùn)藏量約50萬(wàn)千瓦，可開(kāi)發(fā)水能約38萬(wàn)千瓦。流域?qū)俑咴角鸬貛В瑤r溶發(fā)育，河道多深山峽谷，險(xiǎn)灘櫛比。河流開(kāi)發(fā)任務(wù)以發(fā)電為主，兼顧灌溉、航運(yùn)，并考慮下游洪，1991年規(guī)劃在芙蓉江干流修建10個(gè)梯水電站，自上而下分別為角口水電站、小河口水電站、朱老村水電站、牛都水電站、田壩水電站、良坎水電站、沙阡水電站、魚(yú)塘水電站、石門(mén)坎水電站、浩口水電站、江口水電站?？傃b機(jī)容量82.4萬(wàn)千瓦，年發(fā)電量34.76億千瓦時(shí)。已建電站有干流上游正安良坎水電站、支流道真上河電站;在農(nóng)田水利方面，建成的有旺草排洪工程、正安石夾河水庫(kù)、道真沙壩水庫(kù)等水庫(kù)入口河道攔漂裝置和水電站進(jìn)水口攔污浮筒
